Random Tutorial #01 - Shading~!!

Some of my friends requesting this for me to create shading effect. So okay then, Let's get started with this~

P/s: Sorry for my crappy English, lol.

So, firstly, colour your subject with base colour, that is the main colour for your subject. But now we're gonna focus on to shading the hair of the subject.

Yeah, Nitori is now my test subject in this tutorial.
So then, after you've applied the base colour, now let's move to the next step. Layers properties.

First, make a new layer and put it above the base layer. Then set the layer mode to 'Shade' and finally, check on the checkbox that written 'Clipping Group'. Then you're done and ready to make the shading.

Don't understand? Here's the image for easy understanding.

So, now you have a new, and 'modified' layer. Let's start shading~!

Okay then, next, you have to make a gradient (colour-mix) at the bottom of her hair. set the colour to darker ones (green > dark green), choose the Airbrush Tool , set the brush into big size (like 120 px or larger) and start colouring at the bottom of her hair~!

After that, reduce the opacity into half (or more) and you're done with the gradient.

Don't know how to reduce the opacity? (yeah, crappy English) the image below will show you.

Note: You can apply other colours (like pink or purple or else, but dark in colour) for the gradient to make it pretty.

Okay, next step, let's do the REAL SHADING. *lol finally*

Maybe you're wondering which tool will I use for shading. For me, the most great results for the shading is using the Marker Tool. Yes. Why Marker Tool?

It's because that I can control the pressure of the colour while shading. That's why. :P

Now, let's start shading. Create a new layer with the same options (like on image 2). Then, choose the Marker Tool and set the brush size into 20 px (or smaller). Then you can start shading right away~!

When you're done with shading, reduce the opacity until you're satisfy with it. And you're DONE!

This images will help you, lol.

You can also use this shading for clothes, skin and accessory. But it's more effective on clothes.

Hope you'll like it, and sorry for my crap English, AGAIN.
